Confirm what the bag contains
A complete dry concrete premix is different from cement alone, plaster mix or an aggregate blend requiring extra binder. Check the exact contents, intended use and mixing instructions. Names such as premix and ready mix do not by themselves prove that two products have the same contents or finished yield. Wet concrete delivered by truck is a different supply route from dry bagged material.
Start with finished concrete volume
Use an already calculated volume, or measure the actual shapes in the Premix Concrete Calculator first. Area requires depth; a square metre or square foot number alone cannot establish concrete quantity. Post holes need their concrete-filled volume after displacement by the buried post. Avoid counting overlapping sections or applying another blanket allowance to a volume that already includes one.
Use declared yield rather than dry mass
The Concrete Bags Calculator requires finished litres per bag and leaves that input blank until the actual value is supplied. A 20 kg or 40 kg package mass does not establish the finished volume. Water added to the mix is not the same as finished yield either. Check the exact product data or ask the supplier to confirm the usable yield and its basis before purchasing.
Round once for the project and then for packs
Divide required finished litres, including the one agreed extra allowance, by litres per bag and round up. Then round the required bag count to a full pack if the supplier sells only complete packs. For a hypothetical 0.21 m³ requirement already including allowance, a 12 L yield needs 18 whole bags, supplying 0.216 m³. Packs of ten mean buying 20 bags and a declared 0.24 m³. These yields and packs are arithmetic examples.
Convert existing bags to finished volume
Choose existing-bag mode to multiply a known full bag count by declared finished yield. Ten bags at a hypothetical 12 L per bag give 120 L, or 0.12 m³. This mode does not increase the bag count with waste or pack rounding. It assumes the product remains usable and is prepared according to its instructions. The optional dry package mass totals inventory weight without changing concrete volume.
Compare the full quote and required specification
Optional costs use the selected bags and entered delivery on a consistent VAT basis, without extra tax. A nominal bag-material price per m³ is not a ready-mix truck quote or a complete installed cost. Confirm strength, application, stock condition, delivery, returns and project requirements separately. No live nearby stock, national price list, universal water ratio or structural approval is provided.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate premix bags?
Divide finished litres including one agreed allowance by the exact finished yield per bag, then round to whole bags and packs.
Can I calculate from bag weight alone?
No. Use declared finished yield for the selected product.
Does existing-bag mode add waste?
No. It converts the entered full bag count directly to declared finished volume.
Is cement-only bag count the same calculation?
No. Site-batched cement requires a confirmed aggregate recipe and batch yield.
