Quick answer

Estimated subject mark = SBA × SBA weight ÷ 100 + examination × (100 − SBA weight) ÷ 100.

How it works

Estimate a subject result from a school-based assessment mark, examination mark and the weighting that applies to your subject.

Formula

Estimated subject mark = SBA × SBA weight ÷ 100 + examination × (100 − SBA weight) ÷ 100.

Assumptions and common mistakes

Check units, input values and the method before relying on an estimate. Review the existing tool notes and official sources below.

Quick answer

Estimated subject mark = SBA × SBA weight ÷ 100 + examination × (100 − SBA weight) ÷ 100.

Worked example

SBA 68% weighted at 25% and examination 62% weighted at 75% give 17 + 46.5 = 63.5%. The sample 25/75 split is an illustration, not a rule for every subject.

How to use the result

Use the weighting for your actual subject. Subjects with practical, oral or other components may need a different structure. This tool does not reproduce moderation, standardisation, concessions or the final mark issued by the examining authority.
